Ingredients:

  • 3 cups dry roasted peanuts (unsalted or lightly salted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional, if using unsalted peanuts)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions:

Prepare the Peanuts

If your peanuts are not already roasted, spread them on a baking sheet and roast in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, until golden and fragrant. Let them cool slightly.

Blend the Peanuts

Add the peanuts to a food processor. Process for about 1 minute, then scrape down the sides of the bowl. Continue processing, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the peanuts go from a crumbly mixture to a smooth, creamy consistency. This can take 5-10 minutes.

Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, add salt and honey or maple syrup. Blend for another 1-2 minutes until fully incorporated and smooth.

Store

Transfer the peanut butter to an airtight container. It can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 month, or in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.
